“marites” is derived from the filipinX phrase “mare, anong balita?”, meaning “sis, what’s the news?”. Powered by KHASA, Marites Night will be having the first of its monthly series at HIVE. some may say the small talk curates toxic undertones, however Marites culture goes beyond gossip - it fosters community, social bonds, “girlhood” and a sense of belonging through a shared sense of quippy banter.
in celebration of filipinx culture, this evening is meant to reflect the light-hearted, chit-chat nature of marites through Filipinx parlor games, and opportunity to meet others within our community OVER ZERO-PROOF DRINKS.
